“Öppnadt af Krigscensuren”
The first days of censorship at Tornio, no labels for resealing the inspected covers were available, therefor the covers were bended and resealed with wax seals and by hand was written “Öppnadt af Krigscensuren”
All mail with this inscription were registered letters.

the destination of the registered covers
10 to Sweden
2 to Denmark
2 to England
1 to Belgium (not delivered / returned due to the war)
1 to US
No suprise, that the majority went to Sweden, but investigating which Wax Seals were used showed a supprising result.
In the, upto now, available catalogues only the Tornio PO and Tornio PO A-1 wax seals have been registered. The Survey of the covers with the hand written text “Öppnadt af Krigscensuren” has supprisingly showed that the significient part of these covers has been closed with a third Wax Seal from the Tornio Railway Postoffice. A seal that has not been registered in any previous catalogue, and only found used the two first days of Censorship, 15 and 16 Aug. 1914..
